Facebook for Windows is a different way to access Facebook. This is a standalone app that allows you to use a PC app instead of logging into the popular website on your browser. The app will also send you notifications for things like events. The notifications will still come through even if your app is minimized. The application works just as well as the normal website, allowing you to share your thoughts, customize your news feed, edit your privacy and even manage your Facebook groups.

The Facebook for PC app allows you to use all your favorite Facebook benefits, allowing you to easily keep in touch with your friends and family. You’re able to easily share your posts, your photos, and more all from the easy-to-use application. Should anyone interact with you, the app will notify you, just like it does on your cellphone. In fact, this application works a lot like the one on your phone as well.

The application is free to download and free to use. The app functions by using your PC’s location, webcam, microphone, and more. The app also operates by utilizing your internet connection and then generating dynamic code that it uses to operate and function properly.

Installing Facebook on Windows is pretty quick, with the file being about 164 MG in total size, which is a somewhat minuscule size, especially for an app like Facebook, which usually is known for being a bit of a data hog when downloaded to other devices.

The interface of the app is familiar and therefore easy to navigate. It’s sleek and organized. However, it should be noted that the app doesn’t offer new features, and you’ll be getting e Facebook app that you’re familiar with in style and functionality. The software makes it easy to browse and offers no gigantic learning curve, allowing anyone to download, log in, and enjoy.

With the Facebook app for Windows, you’re able to share your thoughts, with the ability to change your audience, allowing you to fine-tune who gets to see your posts via the convenient drop-down menu offered just above the status field. This makes it easy to share your thoughts without everyone on your friends list seeing what you post. This feature comes into handy when trying to hide surprises, or when you don’t want grandma to see some of your less-than-PG posts.

This app is also great for connecting with your favorite groups. However, if you’re looking to play your favorite Facebook games, you won’t be able to do so with the application, and you’ll be directed to the Facebook website to do that. This relates to the biggest issue with the application is that it often redirects you to the web browser all too often. You’ll also still have to deal with seeing ads, which is well-integrated with the Facebook layout.

Another downside is that you're unable to message or call anyone through the app. To message anyone, you'll have to use the web browser website or download messenger to do so. This limits your ability to connect with your friends and family slightly but in no real capacity. You're still able to comment and post on the profiles of others, you just can't send them a private message, or start a video chat/audio chat with them. You are however able to go live and film yourself to post outside of messages.

With the application, you're able to post, share, watch videos, and take photos. You're also able to adjust your security settings and edit your profile as much as you'd like. As mentioned, this Facebook app is essentially just like the one available for your phone and features the same pros and the same cons as that one does. It also looks the same, and functions the same as mobile Facebook applications. This is a great thing for those who are already familiar with Facebook for mobile devices.

Overall, the Facebook app for Windows is a great choice for those who prefer or need an application version of the popular website over using their web browser. The application acts just like others and works just as well. It takes up space, and it redirects a lot, but it provides an application experience on your PC that allows you to use Facebook in a comfortable and familiar way.
